Some AT&T cell customers experiencing service outage

According to the outage tracker Down Detector, a sudden spike in AT&T outages were reported around 6 p.m. ET.

AT&T has acknowledged widespread outages after Twitter and various outage report websites asked if AT&T is having outage issues with cellular service Tuesday afternoon.

Viewers described not being able to make outbound wireless calls.

AT&T recommended that users who are experiencing problems making calls restart their devices.

Although AT&T hasn't officially addressed the questions on social media, many Twitter users are saying once they rebooted their phones, the issues went away.

DownDetector.com, which tracks service outages, showed most reports of issues were coming from Houston, Mountain View, San Francisco, Chicago, Austin, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando and Arlington, Texas.
