ABC News Suspends Brian Ross For Flynn Report

On Friday, ABC News reported Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about communicating with Russian officials while Trump was a candidate, a claim the president has consistently denied.

Behar read the false report on air, prompting her audience to break into uproarious applause, which co-host Meghan McCain compared to Oprah's now famous auto giveaway.

During a Fox Business Network appearance today, Kellyanne Conway discussed ABC News' botched report about President Donald Trump and Michael Flynn. On Saturday evening, ABC News said Ross had been suspended for four weeks without pay for what it termed the "serious error".

"On Friday's show, apparently I was guilty of premature evaluation", Behar admitted, and began to describe what happened. "So those people that you're referring to, I hope that they look very closely at what is coming out of this administration".

"ABC News reporter Brian Ross released a story claiming that when Trump was a candidate he told Michael Flynn to contact the Russians". According to Ross, Flynn later said that Trump wanted to make contact with Russian Federation when he was already elected president.

On Saturday night, Trump tweeted his "congratulations" to ABC for suspending Ross.

"I don't think ever in my career have I felt more rage and disappointment and frustration that I felt through this weekend and through the last half of Friday", Goldston said.

On Sunday's "Reliable Sources" on CNN, political analyst Jeff Greenfield said ABC had made a very "consequential" error, especially given the current political climate.

Trump also encouraged other news agencies to "do the same" to their correspondents of fake news. He said that people would be calling for Breitbart News to be shut down if the conservative publication committed a similar error. It's not important to be first, rather it's important to be right.

"I will say that fake news and what we did on Friday, that's what I was being accused of being a part of. I think holding people to both standards - I remember when Obama was in office Rush Limbaugh saying 'I want my president to fail'". "If we're celebrating a breach of national security, something so egregious that it's going to tear our country apart". It is no secret most of my friends are in conservative media. "I don't want to sit on a show where I feel like we're giving fake news or acting irresponsibly".
