Bannon to exit Breitbart News Network after break with Trump

He's expressing solidarity with the defamation suit filed by his personal attorney Michael D. Cohen against BuzzFeed and Fusion GPS, the firm behind the Christopher Steele dossier.

In fact, new analysis from the Washington Post found that Trump has made more than 2,000 false or misleading claims since entering office.

Since Mr. Trump has always emerged the victor from his previous broken marriages, there was never any doubt who would end out on top once his bromance with Mr. Bannon turned sour. The leading national reporters covering the White House, including at least one who still supports Trump, are arguing whether Trump was a moron (as stated by his secretary of state) or was "only" suffering a mental disorder that has now grown much worse.

The efforts by the White House to discredit author Michael Wolff's Fire and Fury book erupted during a Saturday morning interview with CNN anchor Michael Smerconish. Jarvanka helped engineer Mr. Bannon's August ouster from his White House job. Trump said Bannon had "lost his mind" and through Twitter branded him "Sloppy Steve".

Trump and Republican lawmakers just came away from a Camp David retreat at which they discussed their agenda for the coming year. That was last April, and there's been nothing since.

"Our current libel laws are a sham and a disgrace", he added, "and do not represent American values or American fairness".

SMERCONISH: From the paper trail that I've seen, and I've tried to become more knowledgable in anticipation of having you here, it doesn't seem like there was any interview you were afforded for the book per se...

Abrams responded in an interview: "His definition of what he wants to deal with is precisely what the law now allows you to deal with", that is, reports that are known to be false but are published anyway.

Before the press was led out of the room, the president concluded by saying the administration would be looking into the country's libel laws, pushing for "meaningful recourse" in the courts for those who've been "abused".

Just months after border apprehensions hit a 17-year low, which administration officials proudly celebrated as a "Trump effect", the number of migrants trying to enter the US has been surging, surpassing 40,000 along the Southwest border last month, more than double the springtime numbers, according to Homeland Security.

Days after a blistering book took shots at his administration, Trump renewed his call for a federal libel law to punish writers and broadcasters behind fake news and lies.

After published Henry & Holt Company pulled forward a planned 9 January release date, the book stood as the best-seller on Amazon in the United Kingdom and USA on Saturday, as well as at Barnes & Noble.

Smerconish said he read the book and that he has serious, legitimate questions, as a reader.

Trump has not followed up with any lawsuit.

Bannon left his role as chairman of Breitbart News earlier this week following a dramatic falling out with Trump and the White House.
