Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Switch Port Announced, Release Date Set

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is coming to the Nintendo Switch. In the new Nintendo Mini-Direct, it was revealed that we can expect the game to come to the newer system in May. Funky sports a double jump, hover, infinite rolls, and infinite corkscrews underwater - he seems like an easy mode of sorts and looks really fun to play.

Tropical Freeze, the side-scrolling platformer developed by Retro Studios, originally arrived on Wii U back in 2014. He can even survive spikes with his trusty surfboard. This makes the Switch port all the more important, as it means that a much bigger audience has a chance to give it a shot.

As you imagine, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze takes advantage of the unique features of the console by allowing you to play it anywhere and share the Joy-Con to enjoy your cooperative action.

Donkey Kong will be exclusive to this brand new adventure, which is planned for release in spring 2018.
