The new Acer Chromebook 11 device includes two USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 ports, which can be used to charge the device as well as other products, transfer data quickly and connect to an HD display. Both the Chromebooks feature 1366 x 768 resolution displays that may not sit well with the ones who opt for the larger screen Chromebook, we think that HP should have thrown in an option for 1080p resolution display. Both will be out in February 2018.

As reported by CNET, the HP Chromebook 14 G5 is aimed for corporate sector while the Chromebook 11 G6 is targeted at students.

Acer will be offering both touch and non-touch versions of the Chromebook 11. There's a touch display version of the Chromebook 11 and a non-touch display option. Making this an Android app-ready Chromebook from launch. While on the Chromebook 14 G5, the ports have been shifted to the upper corners. While other companies are holding off launches of their latest products for the CES 2018, HP went ahead and unveiled its newest pair of Chromebooks named Chromebook 11 G6 and Chromebook 14 G5. There are two USB 3.0 Type-A ports as well, for legacy connections, together with a microSD card reader. As is typically the case with Chromebooks, the battery capacity has not been announced although Acer suggests the new Chromebook 11 will be capable of operating for up to 10 hours off the back of a full charge, while connectivity comes in the form of support for 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 Padding out its feature list is the inclusion of support for the Google Play Store and Android apps. The high-dynamic range (HDR) camera produces clear and brighter photos as well as video for Google Hangouts and webchats. Still, the device is a slim 0.71 inches thin and only weighs 2.43 pounds, which makes it decent for lugging around to the library and coffee shop like Acer intends you to. Chrome OS provides additional security since it's automatically updated to guard against ever-changing online threats.
