Manchester United offered chance to sign PSG's Lucas Moura

The midfielder has since made enough of an impression in Nicky Butt's youth set-up to be offered professional terms.

Manchester United have been on the lookout for some attacking talent in the January transfer window and now latest reports from Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte claim that the Red Devils have managed to seal the deal for out of favour PSG winger Lucas Moura. But after being outbid for his signature in 2012 by PSG, United continue to be admirers.

Moura, 25, has been told his can leave the Ligue 1 giants this month with United interested in taking him on loan for the rest of 2017-18 season.

Last season was his most prolific, scoring 12 goals, but PSG's set up has changed substantially due to the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Following the overwhelming performances PSG showcased in the summer window, spending £202m on Neymar and being obliged to spend £166m for Mbappe next summer, the club faces the likelihood of UEFA sanctions.

He was also happy to remain in the French capital for the first-half of the season while his wife Larissa Saad was pregnant, but after the couple celebrated the birth of their first child in November they are now said to like the idea of moving to England.

"And then players like Angel Di Maria, Julian Draxler, Javier Pastore, Lucas... they are second choices".

However, United are yet to make an official approach to the French side, with only Nantes having tabled an offer since Lucas' rejection of an earlier bid by Beijing Gouan.

The PSG winger was understood to be heading to Old Trafford this month with Telefoot claiming Jose Mourinho has convinced United to act now to sign the Brazilian and ensure they don't miss out in the summer.
