UCF fans ask Alabama for a home-and-home football series

The University of Central Florida has beaten Auburn.

The UCF Knights finished the season a ideal 13-0 after defeating the Auburn Tigers in the Peach Bowl. Following that win, they proclaimed themselves the 2017 National Champions.

This season, the Auburn Tigers beat both the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide, who are playing in the last game of the College Football Playoff.

It certainly would be fun to see how UCF would stack up against the Crimson Tide, but that won't happen this season. And you gotta hand it to UCF fans for trying.

Fans of the UCF Knights paid to put up a billboard in Alabama congratulating the Crimson Tide on their national championship victory and challenging the team to a home-and-home series.

Alabama hasn't played a non-conference home-and-home since it played Penn State in 2010 and 2011. The non-conference games on Alabama's future schedules are either set for neutral sites (Louisville in Orlando, Duke and Miami in Atlanta) or Bryant-Denny Stadium.

So it's unlikely that Alabama will all of a sudden grant a random "We Want Bama" request to play UCF in a home-and-home series. And it's kind of a shame, really. Two other Florida teams finished the college football season ranked: the University of Miami ended the season as the number 13 team in the country, while the University of South Florida finished as number 21.
