Another Scott Baio Costar, Alexander Polinsky, Has Accused Him Of Misconduct

Actor Alexander Polinsky is the second person to come forward alleging Scott Baio sexually abused him while on the set of Charles In Charge. In his statement, Polinksy said he witnessed Baio acting "sexual in nature" with Eggert when she was 14 and sitting on his lap. "Instead of telling us a story he immediately threw me off him and immediately called me f*****". Eggertsaid he "misjudged" the situation, and when Polinsky also tried to jump in Baio's lap, Baio shoved him off and called him a gay slur. "Scott pulled down my trousers in front of over a hundred people". Alexander told of Baio cutting a hole in Alexander's canvas dressing room, then exposing his genitals to the boy.

Polinsky, 43, claimed that Baio, 57, bullied him for years with homophobic remarks, in addition to pulling down Polinsky's trousers in front of the crew of the '80s sitcom and throwing a cup of hot tea in his face. After previously claiming physical abuse, the actor made allegations of sexual harassment as well.

Hours after Alexander went public with his accusations, Baio's legal representative Jennifer McGrath and spokesperson Brian Glicklich staged their own press conference to address both claims of sexual misconduct. In his police report, he corroborates Eggert's claims and details his own.

Attorney Bloom also addressed members of the press, reminding them that not every instance of child abuse looks the same. Bloom has also stated that Polinsky made a decision to come forward with his allegations after seeing Eggert being "beat up" by the media after she shared her side of the story.

"Working on the set of Charles in Charge from age 11 to 15 was no picnic, it was a toxic environment", he said.

Polinsky detailed a "pattern of abuse that was unrelenting" during his time on the show, which aired in syndication for four years. "Before my 15th birthday we were at his house, in his vehicle, in his garage and he reached over and he penetrated me with his finger".

Polinsky said that in response to what he saw that day, he was bullied and harassed by Baio for a period of several years.

What do you think about the allegations and Baio's vow to sue for defamation? "It is never too late to start your healing process and take care of yourself", she said. "For little boys, child abuse can often mean homophobic slurs", she said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "Today is about rejecting all of that and it's about standing up against child abuse".

Hours later, Baio's publicist and civil attorney held a news conference in Century City to refute the allegations and accuse Polinsky, Eggert and Bloom of orchestrating an unfounded media campaign aimed at damaging the actor's reputation for the sake of publicity. Scott Baio has denied all wrongdoing and has reiterated that he is innocent multiple times.
