Blizzard Has No Plans for Hearthstone on the Switch

Blizzard Has No Plans for Hearthstone on the Switch

But that rule might finally be broken this generation as console makers have found ways to update their consoles without replacing the hardware altogether. In a recent investor Q&A Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that they aim for the Switch to be owned by every member of the family and not just one person.

While there is no doubt that it is already a huge success for Nintendo, the Switch has a special status in the ecosystem of gaming consoles. But Miyamoto expressed how he feels that the Switch could be around a lot longer due to its unique features and, that Nintendo is focused on extending the life of the console. Previous systems followed a general life cycle of five to six years.

"Behind the unceasing stream of Nintendo Switch software releases to date is an approach to development that concentrates on development, itself the fruit of efforts several years ago to integrate the software development teams, which has made it easier to organise teams".

Overall, the response to the Nintendo Switch has been great so far, with its global sales recently topping the 15 million mark.

Amazon wants you to fall in love with one thing this Valentine's Day, and it's these sweet, sweet deals on video games, consoles and accessories. Even if it doesn't, Nintendo can at least rest assured that the disappointing response to the Wii U is already behind it. Key to that success has been its core design, which allows the device to be both a powerful handheld and a docked home console.

Hearthstone being a predominantly online game makes the Switch a slightly awkward destination however, as players will be resigned to the less-appealing single player side of the game when they're unable to connect to Wi-Fi. Nintendo has uploaded what seems to be the first of a series of fresh trailers to show the versatility of the console and you can view it below. Cross-platform play for HearthStone Nintendo Switch isn't impossible but it's an issue.
