Michelle Obama creates Valentine's Day playlist for Barack Obama

They have been married for 25 years now and still are so in love with mutual respect and admiration for each other.

This playlist features artists from Barry White to Whitney Houston, Beyonce, and so so many more.

Wiley, who painted his portrait, Obama quipped, was at a disadvantage because his subject was 'less becoming'. In contrast to the casualness of the pose and attire, Obama sits in a throne-like chair, seemingly suggesting the power in which he held as former leader of the Free World. Instead Obama looks as if he's tense, in deep thought, listening intently, and preparing for action. Obviously, in the digital age, she didn't give her husband a cassette (where would you even find such a thing?), instead sharing a Spotify playlist dedicated to her "one and only".

Of his own portrait by Wiley, unveiled shortly after Mrs. Obama's, the president's reaction was, "Not bad! She designed it. So he's really hating on her", joked Michelle. Instead the former president is pictured seated on a simple chair, being enveloped by a leafy green background of vines and flowers from Kenya, Hawaii, and other significant locations in the president's life.

She tends to paint black subjects, usually in grayscale in front of a colour-saturated background, in clothes she chooses carefully for each subject.

When Barack's was first uncovered, he simply said "Look at that".

CNN reported on the Obama portrait unveiling yesterday, but it's not yet available in the public domain so the image above is from the Bush portrait unveiling. I am honored. I am proud.

Amy Sherald, who in 2016 became the first woman to win the National Portrait's Gallery's Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition, was chosen (along with Wiley) from over a dozen candidates. These are both prominent and fully integrated in the portrait, the subject of the painting, and also a part of a larger framework.

Melania tweeted in anticipation for her "sweet afternoon".

Their portraits - painted by African American artists - will shake up the assumptions of visitors to U.S. presidential galleries.
