Zach Ertz brings in TD catch and brings home Super Bowl ring

Foles topped the 40-year-old Brady, football's greatest victor, in the most prolific offensive game in NFL history, with the Eagles defeating the favored New England Patriots 41-33.

Boston's football fans flocked to local bars Sunday night to watch the New England Patriots face off against the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LII.

New England trailed 28-3 in Super Bowl LI last February in Houston but rallied to beat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime.

The Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 in Minnesota and it meant the team got their hands on the Vince Lombardi trophy for the first time.

"We just wanted to stay aggressive", Pederson said.

Earlier in the half, the Patriots tried passing the ball to Tom Brady, but the results were quite different. "The offense carried us the whole game and the defense had to make a stop".

It was a good play, with James White pitching to Amendola, who then threw the ball in Brady's direction.

Regardless of his future, McDaniels said Sunday's loss was one of the worst he's ever been through. After throwing his third touchdown pass, to Rob Gronkowski, with 9:22 to play to give the Patriots their first lead of the game, he seemed poised for a sixth. On fourth down, Clement took a direct snap, pitched to tight end Trey Burton, and the former Florida QB hit an uncovered Foles.

Many donned masks of the iconic Philly eagle, while others have taken to wearing hilarious cartoon dog masks, to symbolise the team's underdog status in most of their play-off games.

The Eagles' eight-point victory was all the more remarkable given their first-choice quarterback Carson Wentz's season was wrecked after an ACL tear.

Those numbers, according to the Sports Media Watch, have turned the Super Bowl from exclusively the NFL's championship matchup into the massive communal sporting event that it has become to date.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are embracing their role as five and a half point underdogs. Derek Barnett recovered it for Philadelphia, and a 46-yard field goal by Elliott extended the lead.

Trailing by a point late in the fourth quarter, the Eagles moved ahead for good when Foles connected with Ertz on a 11-yard touchdown that held up after a review determined the catch was good to put his team ahead 38-33. He wasn't about to be consumed by the frustration of getting so near to Tom Brady he could hear him breathing just before he completed another pass.

When LeGarrette Blount, who won the title last season with the Patriots, scored on a 21-yard burst, Pederson went for 2, but the pass failed, making it 15-3.
