Apple introduces new, cheaper 9.7-inch iPad with Pencil support

Apple introduces new, cheaper 9.7-inch iPad with Pencil support

The interesting thing about this iPad is that this phone is available in just $299 only for students and schools.

Apple Inc on Tuesday rolled out a new iPad that works with its Apple Pencil and is aimed at grabbing more of the USA education market, but did not cut the price of the tablet despite fierce competition from cheaper laptops. Some of those so-called Chromebooks sell for $200 to $250 while the cheapest iPad now costs $329.

In Chicago, Apple introduced many new tools for the world of education. If so, this is the iPad you need to buy. It's created to take advantage of a new 9.7-inch iPad also announced buy Apple, with support for Apple Pencil. It's US$99 for anyone who isn't a student, and US$89 for those who are.

Apple's latest event was a pushback to the growing presence of Google Chromebooks in classrooms across America. The executive team and the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, made the announcement at the Lane Tech High School in Chicago on Tuesday. "This is something only Apple can do". The education-focused iPad will come standard with Touch ID, an HD Facetime Camera, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and run on Apple's quick A10 Fusion chip.

The new iPad is not very different from the 9.7-inch iPad unveiled last March. Even the cheap iPad now supports the Apple stylus.

It has connectivity options of 4G LTE (on Wi-Fi + Cellular model), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2. "The flexibility of the iPad is greater". Since iOS 10.2.1, Apple has automatically throttled some devices with chemically depleted batteries, but with 11.3 users will be able to monitor battery health and toggle throttling off except for extreme scenarios.

With these new products, he said, "we believe we can amplify learning and creativity in a way that only Apple can".

We're still about five months away from seeing the next-generation Apple Watch.

Apple's annual spring event is usually held in California. "Apple has never done and won't do that". With the ergonomically designed handgrip, faculty members can comfortably take the iPad with them as a "grab and go' device and then leave it safely docked on their desk".

Apple collaborated with educators and creative professionals to develop a new teaching curriculum - Everyone Can Create.

The good news is that Apple hasn't changed the prices for the new model.

Apple has also introduced a new app called Schoolwork with the iPad, and it will be similar in ways to the successful Classroom app, introduced earlier. Free iCloud storage increases from 5 GB to 200 GB for schools to better manage student sessions on shared iPads.

The budget-friendly iPad is expected to attract students and teachers. Before the Classroom app was only available on the iPad.
