Apple Maps gets upgraded bike-sharing information

Right now Apple Maps doesn't tell you the number of available bikes or empty docks.

However, Apple Maps' new feature will shine when any bikers travel a new town and want to explore on a human-powered pair of wheels.

Apple has added the ability to find bike sharing stations in its Maps app much more easily as it has integrated new data in over 175 cities.

If you type "bike sharing" into Apple Maps, it will scroll to the bike sharing station closest to you.

As reported by TechCrunch, Apple was able to seamlessly include information for many bike sharing services by integrating the data from Ito World, instead of doing the work on its own. Since there are, as Ito World's data indicates, dozens and dozens of bike sharing services, you can't go to a different city and just expect to find your familiar service. All users need to do is type "bike sharing" in to the Apple Maps search bar to see the nearest bike sharing depot to their current vicinity. How about a Citi Bike in NY?
