It centers on a family of caretakers, who live and work in the NY park and end up saving the park- and the world.

The show's cast includes Josh Gad, Titus Burgess from Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell, and others.

Adding to its growing list of original programming, Apple signs its first animated series with a show from Loren Bouchard, creator of "Bob's Burgers".

Bouchard and Gad executive produce alongside Brillstein Entertainment Partners, with Smith serving as consulting producer. It's a two-season order for Central Park, a story of how a family of caretakers living and working in Central Park save the park, and hence the world (via Variety).

The show was originally developed for Fox, where Bouchard has an overall deal.

Further information, including a production and premiere timeline and platform for Apple's content, has yet to be announced.

It also marks the first animated comedy series in the streaming space for 20th TV. The studio is best known for other animated series such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, and American Dad!.
