Bluepoint's next game is another remake

Bluepoint's next game is another remake

When EuroGamer's Digital Foundry asked whether the expanded art team will be deployed to work on an original game, the studio's response revealed its future plans.

Bluepoint Games, the developers of the highly regarded Shadow of the Colossus PS4 remake, have confirmed that it is going to be making another remake.

We're doing exactly what Ratchet and Clank is doing which is actually rendering a native 1440p frame and injecting it temporarily into a 4K buffer, so the actual final output that we're sending to the hardware with the UI and stuff is 4K and really just calling it 1440p is kind of lying a little bit, because over time the temporal jittering of the rendering will give you a higher-quality result than a single 1440p frame.

For those who have had the chance to play the Shadow of Colossus then they will certainly be enjoying the upcoming next remake. Since then Bluepoint has made nearly nothing but remasters and the PS4 version of Shadow of the Colossus was their first remake.

"This project [Shadow of the Colossus] served us as a great point of growing the art team to the point where we can take on a full triple-A game major scope of art content".

Speculations on the game that Bluepoint will remake next are now running rampant. They have aims to improve the art pipeline as well as improving the engine, the workflow of artists and such.

After Bluepoint Games' stunning remake of Shadow of Colossus, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise for fans of the company to hear that they'll be setting their sights on another remake. Which games should have remakes on the PS4? Bluepoint has yet to reveal (or even hint at) what that next game may be, but the developer says "We're really excited about our next project and we think you will be too when you find out what it is".

Interestingly, Bluepoint revealing that it is working on another remake comes off the back of Sony just recently shutting down the servers of Demon's Souls, not long after its nine year anniversary. As you might have guessed, it's going to be another remake.

According to speculations, the game that Bluepoint will remake next is Demon's Souls, the first game in the Souls series that ended with Dark Souls III. Will Bluepoint or Sony make an official announcement at E3 2018? However, some people believe that they have already identified the next game that will be receiving the remake treatment from Bluepoint.
