Honda launches X-Blade at Rs 78500, targets RTR 160 and Gixxer

The new Honda X-Blade is available in five colors- Matte Marvel Blue Metallic / Matte Frozen Silver Metallic/Pearl Spartan Red/Pearl Igneous Black and Matte Marshal Green Metallic.

The bike has been aimed at millennials and Gen-Z, and with X-Blade Honda aspires to create a new benchmark in the 160cc motorcycle segment.

Powering the X-Blade is Honda's trusted 162.71 cc HET engine which provides an ideal balance of performance and efficiency. Talking about the competition, the new Honda X-Blade rivals with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, Hero Xtreme Sports, Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer and the TVS Apache RTR 160.

Soon after showcasing the 160cc, sporty bike, X-Blade at the 14 edition of Auto Expo last month in Greater Noida, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt.

Balancing sportiness with practicality, X-Blade has been fitted with a link type gear shifter for precise and smooth shifts.

Bookings for the X-Blade can be made in all Honda dealers across the country at Rs 5,000. The digital metre (console) is convenient and displays service due indicator, digital clock and a gear position indicator.

It has first-in-class futuristic looking Robo-Face LED headlamps with aggressive styling.

"As promised, we have started the dispatches of X-Blade in March 2018", HMSI Senior Vice-President - Sales and Marketing Yadvinder Singh Guleria said in a statement. These include full LED headlamp with position lamp, full LED tail lamp, aggressive tank design, alloy wheels, dual outlet muffler & digital meter. A 9 LED position lamp setup appael stands out. The sharp, razor-edged elements run throughout from the front to the rear and the sculpted fuel tank further provides it with a muscular look. Mated to a five-speed gearbox, the motor churns out 13.93bhp at 8,500rpm and delivers a peak torque of 13.9Nm at 6,000rpm. The stylish X-Blade also focuses on comfort and safety with a long seat, seal chain and hazard switch. That's not all, while a sharply designed grab rail increases the aggression of the rear, a rear tyre hugger fender protects the underbody from mud accumulation.

Honda has launched its new bike X-Blade in India.
