Yakuza Kiwami 2 Coming To The West In August

Sega will release Yakuza: Kiwami 2 both physically and digitally for PlayStation 4 in the Americas and Europe on August 28 for $49.99, the company announced.

Pre-orders are already live, and in addition to a standard edition, Sega has revealed a limited steel-book edition, featuring Kiryu and Ryuji Goda, as well as some stylish and badass art. This is a complete remake of Yakuza 2 that was released on the PS2, build from the ground up for the PS4 using the Yakuza 6 game engine.

For an in-depth look at the world of Yakuza, or for a refresher on key personalities and story moments throughout the series, be sure to check out the Yakuza Experience Website. If you've missed any of the games, you can always check out the Yakuza Experience, which has comics that sum up plotlines, as well as trace character arcs.

Much like Kiwami, Kiwami 2 offers a new playable story based on "Mad Dog of Shimano" Goro Majima, which sees him forming his own company, Majima Construction, as well as encountering his crush Makoto Makimura from Yakuza 0.

Big Hits, Minigames - Kiryu hasn't let his time away from the front lines tiresome his skills in combat or leisure.

The announcement for the game's release in the West was accompanied by a pretty slick trailer featuring Kiryu doing what he does best. Will you be picking up Yakuza 6 when it is released next month?

But now, fans in other parts of the world will have a chance to enjoy the revamped visuals and graphics of the original Yakuza 2.

If the last few games are anything to go by, then Yakuza Kiwami 2 will also make its way to the West unscathed by the lily stained sensibilities of some of the censorship-heavy localization crews that have been lurking around the Japanese gaming scene like butchers loitering a pig pen.
