Blitzboks to meet Fiji in Commonwealth Games semi

In the first period of extra time, Brazier fended off an opponent and burst through a flagging defence to clinch it 17-12, sparking joyous celebrations as the Kiwis avenged their 2016 Olympic final defeat to the Australians.

England have scored a dramatic last-gasp victor to stun favourites Australia in the final of the netball at the Commonwealth Games.

The Canadians will now play either New Zealand or England in this afternoon's third-place match, set for 1:55 p.m. ET in the Gold Coast (11:55 p.m. ET on Saturday in Canada).

The Kiwis made them pay for most of their errors in the first half, while an outstanding defensive effort in the second earned them the gold medal.

"We tapped it to play on and there was a gap in front of me and I went".

"This is an extremely special result for our sevens teams and will go down as a great day in our sevens history".

New Zealand and England are currently playing their semifinal now at Robina Stadium.

"Nullifying her, that means somebody else is going to be exposed as well everyone has to do their job individually, make one-on-one tackles and it's a handsome day for running rugby so I expect a lot of that out there".

Portia Woodman, New Zealand's superstar who scored three tries against Kenya on day one, was just run down metres from the line after a superb in and out but Michaela Blyde's strike put the Black Ferns 12-5 ahead at the break.

"I looked at our captain (Sarah Goss) when we got the penalty and she gave me the heads-up that we're not kicking the ball out", Brazier said.

"They held their composure, like we did", Walsh said.

They conceded just four tries across the entire tournament.

Charlotte Caslick, one of Australia's best at these games, didn't come back on in the second half after a head knock. The New Zealand men celebrated later with a bare-chested haka on the field.

The victor will face Australia in the final.

England's men also fell to the Kiwis 17-12 in the semi-final, but hit back with an impressive 21-14 win over South Africa to claim bronze.
