Mayfield returns to Sports Illustrated cover ahead of NFL Draft

There is a lot of talk about the QBs in this NFL Draft class, but which EDGE compares to each QB. The best quarterback of all time, Tom Brady, was a sixth round pick, number 199 overall. This isn't a diss on Cleveland or a rip on the Browns.

We've gone over possible selections at No. 10 overall.

Kiper has the Panthers general manager Marty Hurney taking Stanford safety Justin Reid with the 24th pick in his latest two mock drafts, including a three-round mock that was published last week. Wrote's Lance Zierlein in his draft preview of O'Neill: "Needs to get thicker and stronger or swing tackle could be his ceiling". Will the draft order change over the next week, only time will tell, but let us take a look at what the first round may look like with the order as it now stands. He has been in to visit the Browns (as has every other QB). His biggest concern about Rosen is when plays break down, he is not as good at improvising as some others are. His mechanics are broke, however.

On paper these two should be very successful in the National Football League despite some flaws on tape (Arm limitations for Rudolph, leverage for Davenport) and the competition they played against. Darnold also has mechanical issues but his seem fixable where Allen's do not. NY loves brashness at the position and not many others can match the brashness of Baker Mayfield. This is one of the most anticipated events for football fans during the offseason and gives each fan a glimmer of hope for their favorite teams. He makes plays from the pocket and on the move. At the same time, they have had for need a pass rusher for time out of mind.

With 37-year-old starting quarterback Eli Manning on a year-to-year basis for the rest of his career, Webb, a third-round pick in 2017, will be the heir apparent if the Giants opt against USC's Sam Darnold, UCLA's Josh Rosen, Wyoming's Josh Allen and Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield. The underdog choice is Louisville's Lamar Jackson. So while the Raiders signed Rashaan Melvin and believe Ward's college teammate Gareon Conley will step in and play, it's a fact the Raiders have recently been so poor at finding corners a good strategy would be to keep loading up on them until they strike gold. Could the Cardinals, Chargers, or even the Saints and Patriots feel like he has the tools to develop as a future replacement for the aging veterans? "Mike Gesicki from Penn State to Dallas Goedert from South Dakota St., one if not both could be there at 30 and would be a good complement to Rudolph for '18 and ultimately take over the role in '19". However, with so many RBs in this draft and with Walton coming off an ankle injury, he could easily be in the 6 Round.

Now this is all subject to change on draft night where we have seen that anything can happen, but this is a great blueprint of how things will shape up on the night that changes so many young athlete's lives. These quarterbacks figure to be the picks for these "quarterback needy" teams.

"They were strategically picked to be a part of this because they can help get this organization to winning as fast as it can".
