Schwarzenegger 'Feeling Much Better' After Heart Surgery

Schwarzenegger says he is feeling better, but is "not great yet". The operation was meant to simply replace a valve being used to correct a congenital heart defect, but ended up requiring open-heart surgery to address.

Sitting at a chessboard, which he says he plays to keep his mind fresh, he gave viewers an update on how he's feeling.




The Austrian-born screen icon posted a short video message to his Twitter account on Thursday (April 12th), thanking followers for their support after it was revealed that he had undergone major heart surgery at the end of March. Because I'm not great yet, great is a totally different level. According to USA Today, Schwarzenegger left the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last week to continue the recovery process at home. "And thank you all for being such jewels".

After news of the emergency operation broke, the actor's representative Daniel Ketchell released a statement which confirmed that actor was "stable" and in "good spirits" following the procedure, and added that his first words when he woke were "I'm back". "And we move forward". Governer's Schwarzenegger's pulmonic valve is successfully replaced and is now recovering from the surgery.

'During that a procedure, an open-heart surgery team was prepared, as they frequently are in these circumstances, in case the catheter procedure was unable to be performed.
