US', Allies' Missile Strikes Have 'Enforced Red Line' in Syria

US', Allies' Missile Strikes Have 'Enforced Red Line' in Syria

Defense Secretary James MattisJames Norman MattisUS targets Syrian chemical weapons facilities with strikes Top general: United States did not notify Russian Federation on Syria targets Mattis: Clearly Assad "did not get the message" with strikes past year MORE ended a briefing with reporters at the Pentagon on Friday night by warning of false reports from "those who have aligned themselves with the Assad regime".

Syrian television reported that Syria's air defenses, which are substantial, have responded to the attack.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has also lashed out at the Western states that had conducted a joint massive missile strike on targets in Syria and warned of "regional consequences".

Syria's capital has been rocked by loud explosions that lit up the sky with heavy smoke as U.S. President Donald Trump announced airstrikes in retaliation for the country's alleged use of chemical weapons.

He says the overnight operation carried out by the United States, France and Britain followed that example.

Speaking from the White House, Trump says, "To Iran and to Russian Federation, I ask: What kind of a nation wants to be associated with the mass murder of innocent men, women and children?"

"Early this morning, under American leadership, the United States, France and the United Kingdom demonstrated that their commitment is not limited to proclamations of principle", Netanyahu said in a written statement.

Attacking Syria is a crime.

Asked what US President Donald Trump's next step against the regime should be, he replied: "I think the big thing is we've got to be prepared to take more action if this behaviour continues on the part of the Syrians".

Canadian Prime Minister Justin has also expressed his support for punitive strikes carried out by the US, Britain and France against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime.

In a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said the US and its allies "will assume the responsibility for the regional and trans-regional consequences of this adventurism".

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has denounced the case, calling it a politically motivated attack on his government.

Berman, they added, "can prevent further disparity in Mr. Atilla's treatment" by taking into account the leniency afforded those banks and their employees, both USA and non-US citizens, who violated sanctions.

The Syrian government has denied the accusations. But it remains unclear if they were struck by French and British manned aircraft and cruise missiles rather than by the US military. The IDF stressed that the drone was detected by Israel's aerial defense system when it took off from the T-4 airbase in Syria and was being tracked by the Israeli Air Force.

The attacks were described by the Pentagon as precise and aimed exclusively at the regime's chemical weapons facilities.

Israeli leaders have warned that they will not allow Iran to establish a permanent military presence near its border in Syria, where it could stage attacks.

The investigation claims come shortly after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said Israel had placed itself in direct confrontation with Iran. "Insulting the President of Russian Federation is unacceptable and inadmissible", he added.
