Cardi B Claps back at Azealia Banks for 'illiterate, untalented' remarks

"Two years ago, the conversation surrounding black womens culture was really reaching an all-time high", Banks said. "There was just this really, really, really intelligent conversation going on nationally and then everything just kind of changed and then it was like Cardi B".

The controversial rapper added, "Im just talking about this caricature of a black woman that black women themselves would never be able to get away with. People followed me on Instagram and the people gave me a platform to introduce my talent".

The video began circulating late Sunday night, and shows the "Bodak Yellow" rapper on the inside of a luxury boutique screaming at a crowd of people as her bodyguards, and the store security, try to gain control of the crowd.

A woman had to be held back as she attempted to confront Cardi B, while a man yelled threats through the glass doors.

According to Billboard, before removing herself from Instagram and allowing only her current followers to see her tweets, Cardi B responded, saying: "I'm from the hood".

She continues, "The concept of me "attacking" other women is a hard one to process because it's subjective and purely an analysis of what YOU see".

"The difference between you and me is that I've never pretended to be something I am not!"

Yet, her rise does say something about what mainstream society chooses to extract from The Culture.

Still, there are folks who visibly cringe every time she utters "Eee-yoowwwww" and the now-SNL appropriated "Okkkurrr!"

Cardi B also references Banks' own past with skin bleaching, arguing that the rapper takes her own issues with race out by "taking joy in belittling over black women", referencing previous feuds with Beyoncé, Remy Ma and Rihanna. "Pray for your own success before you pray for the downfall of others!"
