Four women among 5 Kashmiris thrashed by mob for feeding dogs

Two days after a group of Kashmiri people was thrashed by a mob in Sunlight Colony near New Delhi's Maharani Bagh, the Delhi police on Saturday registered an FIR. One of them was heard screaming because of the injuries she received during the scuffle.

Sources said Delhi Police have arrested three residents and a guard on the basis of CCTV footage but their identities have not been revealed yet.

According to a report published in NDTV, The Kashmiri family that was assaulted told the police that they had been harassed in the last few months.

The Kashmiri family has alleged that the police had been aware of the situation for a while but never took any action. The group was repeatedly asked to leave the neighbourhood.

A video also went viral after the incident which shows some people, including women, arguing with the victims and assaulting them.

On the complaint of residents of Sunlight Colony, the police have registered a case under various sections of IPC against the other party, said Mr. Biswal.

"There are complaints from both sides. The incident on Thursday too was a fall out of a number of arguments that had taken place earlier", said Tauqeer.

One of the Kashmiri women said: "My sisters were abused and beaten up". I have a broken left hand and a person who had come to visit us was also attacked.

"It was a planned attack and the accused were carrying hockey sticks", added the victim. "We have not been given police protection even after the incident", he said.

However, a neighbour gave a contradictory version. However, the residents of the locality have accused the Kashmiri men of misbehaving with the residents, which led to an altercation. "A man from that family regularly misbehaves with women in the area", Sangita Tripathi said.

That night, the victims, including four women, were allegedly surrounded and beaten by a mob of 30-40 people. I lodged a complaint against him for molestation in December. We were going to drop her back to her hotel when some residents carrying sticks and batons blocked our way.
