"The recalls are to consult with our Ambassadors to these states about their positions and their commitment to the EU's positions", said the PA's Foreign Ministry.

Permanent Observer Mission of the State of Palestine, Riyad H Mansour speaks during a press conference after the UN Security Council meeting on May 15, 2018, at UN Headquarters in NY.

Palestine has recalled four of its ambassadors from the European Union because the ambassadors participated at the inauguration of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, said the Palestinian Foreign Ministry in Ramallah.

Guatemala is one of only a handful of nations that supported U.S. President Donald Trump's decision in December to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Arab League Assistant Secretary-General Ambassador, Hossam Al Zaki, said the Arab League would convene Thursday to "discuss the emergence of a unified Arab stance against the crimes against the Palestinian people, as well as to confront the US decision to transfer its embassy to the city of Jerusalem".

The ministry "sees this participation as a grave breach of worldwide law and United Nations resolutions which confirm that Jerusalem has been occupied since 1967 and ban countries from moving their embassies there", the statement said.

Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas on Tuesday withdrew his top envoy to Washington. Paraguay has also announced that it would move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by the end of May.

The status of Jerusalem is one of the thorniest obstacles to forging a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians, who with broad worldwide backing want East Jerusalem, captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war, as their capital.

We will remind, in result of the riots on the administrative border of the Gaza strip killed 58 Palestinians, 2700 were wounded and injured. In Geneva, the United Nations human rights office said Israel has repeatedly violated worldwide norms by using deadly live fire to repel protesters.

Israel regards all of the city, including the eastern sector it annexed after the 1967 conflict, as its capital.
