Junior Lokosa makes Super Eagles World Cup squad

Otherwise, the bulk of the players on the squad announced by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have been involved in the qualifying tournament for Russia 2018.

Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi and Ahmed Musa were in Nigeria's provisional World Cup squad on Monday, as was the uncapped Simeon Nwankwo, a 1.98-meter (6-foot-6) striker with Italian club Crotone.

The Kano Pillars hotshot has scored 18 goals so far in the current Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) season and leads the goal chart.

Nwankwo got his first global call-up following his fine form in the Italian topflight where he has scored six goals in his last seven outings.




Defenders include: Stephen Eze, Tyronne Ebuehi, William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Olaoluwa Aina, Kenneth Omeruo, Bryan Idowu, Chidozie Awaziem, Abdullahi Shehu and Elderson Echiejile.

Gernot Rohr has stuck with the quartet of Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Dele Ajiboye, Daniel Akpeyi and youngster Francis Uzoho in the goalkeeping department.

Captain John Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu, Wilfried Ndidi, Uche Agbo, Oghenekaro Etebo, Joel Obi and Mikel Agu are the midfielders that made the cut.
