Kimmy Goes Adulting in 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' Season 4 Trailer

Season four will premiere on Wednesday, May 30, with six episodes.

In the trailer for the upcoming fourth season of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) has a new job at tech company Giztoob, where she has to deal with insecure men making sexual harassment claims against her and men anxious about their declining social dominance.

But fans of the series won't be able to watch all 16 episodes when the season drops on May 29, unfortunately. The first eight episodes will be released on May 29 but the next eight will be released later, but it's not clear if that will be in 2018 or if it'll be pushed into 2019. But now, the last eight episodes will debut sometime later this year.

Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos assured fans previously that the season 4 standalone character format would be abandoned for season 5, with fans finding that "the Bluths will collectively [spend] more quality time" together.

Netflix does this for seasons of The Ranch and Fuller House and is splitting up the final season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt into two parts. Shows like The Walking Dead frequently air the first half of their seasons, take an extended break, and then air the second half months later. Unlike broadcast and cable, which release a single episode each week, Netflix typically releases all its episodes at once.

The trailer for Arrested Development's fifth season is available below.

Netflix also announced that the video-streaming service has signed a new deal with Ricky Gervais, which will bring his series "After Life" to the platform later this year.

Apparently, the split is being done for the sake of awards consideration, with a release date prior to May 31 allowing the first episodes of the show to be considered for Emmy Award nominations.
