Kurt Cobain's Daughter Loses Nirvana 'MTV Unplugged' Guitar In Divorce Settlement

One of the most iconic musical instruments from the grunge era is no longer with the Cobain family.

According to reports, the 25-year-old finally settled her divorce from her husband of two years on Monday, May 14.

Insiders say that Bean was keen on moving on and didn't want to prolong things anymore with further court dates and hearings, which is why she's let go of the fight.

However, the daughter of Kurt and Courtney Love was keen to move on according to insiders, so gave up the fight, six months after their divorce was finalised.

The instrument is thought to be especially valuable because only 300 were made before Martin discontinued the model, and a left-handed Cobain had the bridge and nut replaced so it could be played upside down. The Blast reports that images from four rolls of film taken at the scene of the Nirvana frontman's death in 1994 will nearly certainly not be seen by the public.

However, the Seattle court of appeals ruled in favour of Frances Bean Cobain and her mother, Courtney Love, who subsequently sought a ruling against Lee's attempt and "permanently enjoining the City from disclosing, disseminating, releasing, or distributing any death-scene photographs not previously disclosed".

"It's not [Silva's]", she said. The treasured heirloom had been passed through the hands of various family members, and has been loosely appraised as being worth several million dollars. It's not his to take.

Lee appealed the ruling previous year, in which Courtney Love (Cobain's widow) and his daughter Frances Bean both filed documents and testified to block Lee's case. "I'm very glad that she's out of this very unsafe and toxic relationship". Although the couple became legally separated the guitar has been the focus of a two year legal battle.
