Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Request 'Understanding and Respect' for Thomas Markle

Kensington Palace issued a statement this morning saying: "This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding".

TMZ's Sean Mandell told Vanity Fair that he spoke to Thomas Markle after he made his decision not to attend the royal wedding.

Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle asked for "understanding" for the father of the American actress after the USA celebrity news site TMZ reported on Monday he would not attend the couple's glittering wedding in Britain this weekend.

The poll by polling firm YouGov showed that 57 percent of respondents believed the royal family should pay not only for the wedding but also for the costs of police.

Later in the day, Thomas Markle told TMZ he staged the photos in an effort to rebrand his image and admits the posed pictures look "stupid and hammy". Markle allegedly worked with a Los Angeles based photographer on four separate occasions to take photos that were later published in magazines, newspapers, and websites globally, according to Daily Mail. The photos were said to have been sold to media for £100,000 (S$180,867) but it was not known whether Mr Markle himself was paid.

Ahead of the wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor on Saturday, 19 May, Samantha said: "I have and I have to say I am entirely the culprit".

So, Samantha Markle told ITV that she told their father to stage positive photos for the paparazzi to help improve his image.

By staging these paparazzi photos you'll have broken Prince Harry's trust & your little girl's heart.

The news of Doria's career move comes as royal wedding watchers scrutinize every move Meghan Markle's family makes, and also as the bride-to-be deals with the last-minute change to her wedding party.

The palace had announced last week that Mr Markle and his ex-wife would play important roles in the wedding.

In a freakish intervention, Samantha said she had advised her father to co-operate with the photographer to show himself - and, strangely, the Royal Family - in a "positive" light. I wanted to see him go (to the wedding), I didn't want him deprived of that.

Harry included two diamonds from his mother's own jewelry collection in Meghan's engagement ring, which he designed himself, "to make sure she's with us on this insane journey together", he said. And the royals are as popular as they've ever been - a stable feature in a changing world.

The 30-year-old then took it further and asked why he would invite her to his wedding when they only meet once.

So why did Mr Markle pull out at such short notice?

"I've been popping Valium for the pain, especially when I hear about my oldest daughter", he said. "I hate the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history and walking my daughter down the aisle", he said, adding, "Of course I'd walk her down the aisle". They were due to travel to the chapel together on Saturday.
