Rami Malek is Freddie Mercury in First Teaser for Bohemian Rhapsody

Soundtracked by mash-ups of some of Queen's biggest hits, including "We Will Rock You" and the title track "Bohemian Rhapsody", the trailer claims that "the only thing more extraordinary than their music is his story".

"Killer Queen", "Another One Bites The Dust" and, of course, "Bohemian Rhapsody" feature in the trailer.

The film follows the meteoric rise of Freddie Mercury and the band, as well as his devastating fall.

Malek looks absolutely incredible as Mercury. The film will also notably not chronicle the bisexual Mercury's struggle with - and eventual death from - AIDS, an omission which has upset those who would like to see Mercury's status as one of the most high-profile victims of the AIDS Crisis acknowledged in the film.

Bohemian Rhapsody is scheduled for release in the USA on 2 November, however an Australian date is yet to be announced. Proposed in 2010, the lead role was originally set aside for Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Dictator) but left after six years as a result of "creative differences". According to the official synopsis, the film explores the ups and downs of the band, including when Mercury made a decision to pursue a solo career and when he reunited with the band for Live Aid, despite his failing health.

The film is being directed by Bryan Singer who is famous for directing the first two X-Men movies and more recently, X-Men: Days of the Future Past. They inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers.
