Republican's campaign for Georgia governor includes 'deportation bus'

Republican's campaign for Georgia governor includes 'deportation bus'

State Sen. Michael Williams plans to take the bus along with him to the state's sanctuary cities to show his support for the deportation of illegal immigrants.

"Through his bus tour of sanctuary cities, William will expose how unsafe illegal aliens ruin local economies, cost American jobs, increase healthcare costs and lower education standards", the statement said, before touting Williams' history as the Georgia co-chair for President Trump's campaign.

State Senator Michael Williams said he is taking a firm stand on immigration reform, but it's the way he is going about it that has some folks up in arms. "We're gonna put 'em on this bus and send 'em home".

Mayor Terry and other critics worry the messages emblazoned on the bus like "Danger: Murderers, rapists, kidnappers, child molesters and other criminals on board" is risky rhetoric.

"Williams champions implementing the federal 287 (g) deportation program in every Georgia county to deputize officers as ICE agents", the statement said.

Williams is one of seven GOP candidates seeking to replace Republican Gov. Nathan Deal, who is completing his second term in office.

According to a Huffington Post article, Williams was the co-chair for President Trump's presidential campaign.

Illegal immigration is a fierce subject in Georgia's race for governor; only Michael Williams has the record and the plan to shut down illegal immigration in Georgia.

"We are willing to go out there and hit the issue head-on, and illegal immigration is one of the biggest issues in our country and we need to start talking about it", said Williams.

"We've got the 'Deportation Bus.' That's right, you heard me".

The message is accompanied by a video showing Williams descending from a converted school bus, which reads "Danger: murderers, rapists, kidnappers, molesters and other criminals onboard". "If you want a politically incorrect conservative, that's me". Without 287 (g), we have no way of knowing when illegals are committing crimes and being sent back into our communities.
