UAW Files A Complaint Against Elon Musk

Musk urged the media to promote the poll if "they didn't want Pravda to exist", then tweeted again, saying he may call the site "You're Right" instead. Mr. Musk replied with a "hugging face" emoji.

Musk also said on Twitter a few days later that the company was dependent on sales of those more profitable Model 3s to stay afloat financially.

Pravda or "Truth" in Russian was also the name of the official newspaper of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Considering that Tesla doesn't advertise, Musk blamed the fossil fuel companies and gas/diesel vehicle companies for "influencing" the media with its advertising dollars.

Some industry observers have linked the latest tweetstorm to Musk's weird sales conference call with investors and journalists earlier this month, in which he called questions about Tesla's financial health "boring, boneheaded questions" and proceeded to take multiple questions from an EV-friendly analyst.

"Why pay union dues and give up stock options for nothing?" he said about workers at the plant. "Our safety record is 2X better than when plant was UAW & everybody already gets healthcare".

Recently Consumer Reports (CR) tested the Tesla Model 3 and found that the auto had braking distances that were much longer than other vehicles in its class. Wilma Liebman, who headed the agency during the Obama administration and has done legal work for the UAW, said she interpreted that as a warning the company would take away workers' stock options if they succeeded in organizing the factory.

The United Auto Workers union has filed legal charges against Tesla, a high-tech automaker based in Fremont, Calif., with the National Labor Relations Board for a tweet Musk fired off at 2:44 a.m.

On a larger scale, Musk's latest tweetstorm is the latest in a pattern of increasingly erratic behavior on Twitter.

The electric-car maker has been fighting negative press for several months over production bottlenecks for its Model 3 sedan, crashes involving its cars and doubts raised by Wall Street over its cash position.

"Thought you'd say that". The new government found that the Tesla idea was good as well, so they are now reportedly going ahead with both plans- a major win for clean energy innovation.
