Woman tortured to death by a pack of dachshunds

Three of the dogs were females and four were males, Dinwiddie explained, while none of them weighed more than 40 pounds and none stood taller than knee-height.

Tracy Garcia, 52, was killed by a neighbour's dogs in her home last week, reports United States news outlet KFOR.

Police officers "shot and killed one dog that charged them" at the scene, KXII reports.

Tracy Garcia, 52, was attacked outside of her home on the night of May 10 by the dogs, local station KTEN reported.

The group of dogs included six dachshund-terrier mixes and one border collie mix. The dogs ranged in age from 1 to 3-years-old. "They have really noticeable characteristics like their knobby legs, knees, very short legged dogs and their coats".

"A predominant breed in these dogs is definitely standard dachshund", technician Amanda Dinwiddie told KXII. Garcia was mauled at the intersection of Banyon and Mary Niblack roads and later died from her injuries, according to KTEN. Although it was initially reported that a pit bull was among the dogs which attacked Garcia, that was not the case.

Dinwiddie said they were covered with fleas and ticks and had apparently been living "out in the woods".

Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant said: 'This is a bad situation, a very unfortunate situation. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victims", he added. After reviewing the necessary documents, the District Attorney would decide whether to press charges against the pet owner. The dogs belonged to her neighbor, according to KXII in Oklahoma. "This is just a bad deal all the way around".
