David De Gea refuses to say whether he’s staying at Manchester United

David De Gea has done little to ease the fears of Manchester United supporters with his latest comments when quizzed over whether or not he was still interested in a move to Real Madrid.

"The important thing is the World Cup - there can not be anything else to turn your attention away from that", the 27-year-old said. What happens is that what they said at the time was public and that's why I think that the apologies should also be in public.

According to Diario Gol, who are renowned for their outlandish transfer rumours, Los Blancos skipper Ramos has got involved in the saga by holding talks with De Gea during Spain's global training camp.

De Gea should be focussed on the World Cup as he looks to take Spain all the way to the final and win the trophy.

There is talk of De Gea, rated as one of the best in the world, jumping ship from Man United to Real Madrid. I always said that it was a lie and yet people continued saying that I should not go to the national team.

"I always put my music on".

During the build up to the tournament, however, De Gea found himself involved in an allegation which not only changed him as a person but also soured his relationship with the national media. Come what may, I'll be the same.

The centre-back reportedly thinks it is time for the club to attempt the signing of a different goalkeeper - Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak. "It is important to be focused and be 100 percent".

"There are things that did a lot of damage and had an affect". But obviously, I have family and people that are close to you who are more affected than me.

"In the end, things are proven and we saw that it was all a lie".

It had been said they could look to strike a deal before the World Cup begins in Russian Federation. In addition, Jose Mourinho's team finished trophyless last campaign, which can cause some severe damage in their hopes of clinging on to David de Gea this summer.

"We also have a great national team, and it will be a tough game".
