ISS crew return to Earth on Russian spacecraft

It will return to Earth with the crew of the ISS-54/55 expedition and used in the first game of the tournament - Russian Federation versus Saudi Arabia - on June 14.

As the Space Station passes into a period of night every 45 mins video is unavailable - during this time, and other breaks in transmission recorded footage is shown when back in daylight earth will recommence.

Three members of International Space Station Expedition 55 crew returned to Earth in the Soyuz MS-07 spacecraft Sunday morning after a 168-day mission.

Their Soyuz spacecraft will undock from the ISS around 10.16am and travel away from the space station for a couple of hours, before igniting its engines to take it out of Earth's orbit.




The mission was the first for Tungle and Kanai, while Shkaplerov has spent 532 days in space throughout three flights.

NASA astronaut Serena Aunon-Chancellor, Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Prokopyev and German astronaut Alexander Gerst are preparing to go to the ISS this week.

Three crew members now on board the International Space Station are making final preparations to end their mission on the orbiting laboratory.

Mr Putin highlighted Japan's important contribution to the ISS and Mr Abe expressed his joy at the pair working in such unity in space.

The ISS, one of the few examples of cooperation between Russian Federation and the United States, has been in orbit since 1998, orbiting at a speed of 28,000 km/hour.
