Jimmy Wopo Shot and Killed in Pittsburgh

XXXTentacion was shot and killed in South Florida.

In the second incident, Wopo died after a double shooting in Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and local television stations reported.

Wopo's manager, Taylor Maglin, confirmed his client's death on Facebook.

He wrote: 'I lost my brother today and it's the worst feeling in the world.

" Jimmy unfortunately passed away and I ask at this time you keep his family in your prayers during this hard time", says Wopo's administrator Taylor Maglin, proprietor of The Daily Loud".

Wopo, whose real name was Travon Smart, had been featured in Complex magazine and named "Pittsburgh's Next Rap Star" by Hot New Hip Hop past year. He also pledged to do "everything in my power to make his memory live on forever".

The Florida native was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The trap rap star was considered by many to be a heir apparent to fellow Pittsburgh rappers Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller, who had become heavyweights in hip hop. The other man remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Wopo was known for his single Elm Street released in 2016. Wopo had been a shooting victim on two different occasions prior to his passing, and served time in jail for drug charges. The site of his murder was less than a mile away from where Wopo, born Travon Smart, grew up and just down the street from the Bedford Hope Center, a church with a recording studio where he made his first songs in his early teens.
