Madrid will appoint Guti to replace Zidane - Murcia

Real Madrid has a new Zidane in the making; even if he will not success Zidane immediately but he will be Madrid's coach in few years.

Madrid are quickly running out of top-level options to replace Zinedine Zidane, who opted to step down from the role after winning three successive Champions League titles.

Much like Zidane, Guti has cut his teeth working away with Real's next generation and it has so far been a struggle for the club to attract a big name, such as Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte or Jurgen Klopp. "He was the coach I wanted here".

Madrid native Guti's Juvenil side completed a historic domestic treble in his first season in charge previous year, although the 2017-18 season saw them finish third in the regional table, behind Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano's youth teams.

Spanish daily AS quote him as saying "Guti isn't going to take the coaching post at Murcia because he is going to coach Real Madrid". "Guti called me to thank me for our interest in him".

Don Balon report he could have joined Real Madrid for just €60million, which is less than various other outlets are suggesting he'd cost.

Now real Madrid cannot plan the preparation of the team for the new season and start of the transfer campaign, due to the lack of a head coach.

Part of the reason Zidane left so soon, in the former right-back's mind, is that he had little time to prepare as Madrid boss having been appointed amid Rafa Benitez's sacking.
