What Justin Trudeau said that made Donald Trump angry

Trudeau's remarks have enraged U.S. President Donald Trump, who tweeted hours later that he had instructed U.S. representatives not to endorse the G7 joint communique "based on Justin's false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies".

Speaking with reporters on Monday at the Manitoba Legislature, the Premier voiced his concerns over the relationship between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President Donald Trump, which took a nose dive over the weekend at the G7 Summit in Quebec.

Mr Trump earlier warned his counterparts against retaliation after the USA imposed tariffs on steel and aluminium from Europe, Mexico and Canada - saying they would be "making a mistake".

Mocked for cultural gaffes on a recent trip to India, and slammed by others for his efforts in renegotiating the North America Free Trade Agreement at Trump's behest, Trudeau has also been attacked by the left-wing for his decision to nationalize an oil pipeline that had bogged down in protest and controversy. So far in 2018, Canada is also the top export destination for U.S. goods, with over $98 billion worth of goods going over the border.

But as the world watched Trump wage war of words against Trudeau, Twitter feeds began to flood with responses and reactions to the US President.

By any reasonable measure, the administration's actions were part of a complete scorched-earth approach that was unbalanced and irrational and will only worsen an already frayed relationship with Canada.

Earlier, the White House escalated the initial tirade and levelled more withering and unprecedented criticism against Mr Trudeau, branding him a back-stabber unworthy of Mr Trump's time.

Just as the G7 meeting of the world's leading industrialised nations had seemed to weather Mr Trump's threats of a trade war, the president backed out of the group's joint statement that Mr Trudeau said all the leaders had come together to sign. The president also repeated claims that Canada overtaxes American dairy products under its supply management system and complained about Canadian automobiles flooding the USA market.

"I've never seen language like this, the least of all from subordinates of the president directed at the prime minister of their greatest friend and ally".

"That's what bad-faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference". $800 Billion Trade Deficit.

Trudeau had been saying the same thing for several weeks, but Trump apparently found it reprehensible to repeat the message on the eve of his historic summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

"Well, he holds a press conference and he says the U.S.is insulting".

Trump is now feuding with Trudeau and other close allies of the United States over trade just one day after leaving the G7 Summit in Canada where he met with world leaders. He said that Canada has to stand up for itself. Edward Markey (D-Mass.) said on CBS' "Face The Nation" that "right now, the President is actually driving our allies away from us as we need them even more, while welcoming in the Russians".

"[Trump] wants to move all of that manufacturing back to the States, [but] we don't have people to actually do this work", Heyman said. They accused Trudeau of betraying Trump and stabbing him in the back. Freeland later told reporters that "we don't think that's a useful or productive way to do business".
