Wynne continues to campaign hard despite predicting loss in Ontario election

"In the past, the Liberals have typically - either federally or provincially - been regarded as, and have been, the stronger party, so the messaging has been to NDP supporters not to waste their vote", Siemiatycki said.

With her party trailing behind the Progressive Conservatives and the New Democrats in the polls, an emotional Kathleen Wynne admitted that Ontarians want change and that she will no longer be Premier after this election. "It's pretty rich for a premier who has lost the confidence of a majority of the people of this province to say she knows what is best".

Wynne, who first entered politics as a school trustee in 2000, said at the beginning of the campaign that she believed her party could turn the tide. She's running for re-election in the new riding of Nepean.

The Liberal candidates in three of Windsor-Essex's ridings have reacted to the news that Wynne is not expecting to be premier in the next government.

Ford's claim to be "for the people" is just a "facade", she said.

On the Pride Parade in particular she said it's "important" that political leaders make an appearance to show that "differences are okay and that we can take pride in those differences".

"I smoked marijuana and I didn't deal marijuana", he said.

NDP Leader Andrea Horwath is stumping for votes in the GTA, where she's scheduled an announcement and a campaign event in Toronto, before heading to Mississauga tonight where she'll attend an Iftar dinner.

"But you know it's still not too late for me to be swayed one way or the other as well", Benoit said - although he added he would only consider switching his vote to the NDP. "And her request today for a minority government is a demand that she be allowed to continue to hold the power at Queen's Park - something voters have already rejected", Horwath noted in a statement.

Horwath's voting pitch - typically seen as Ontario and federal elections move into their final stretches - comes as polls suggest either she or Ford will become Ontario's next premier. "That's the reality of the role premier (and) we can not let ideology get in our way".

Ford had little to say about the announcement, noting only that the election is about change and people are fed up.

Up in Parry Sound-Muskoka, Liberal candidate Brenda Rhodes says she's received a lot of support from constituents, which fuels her commitment to fighting for a seat at the legislature. Pauls, two Ottawa seats and some in eastern Ontario. The Kathleen Wynne Liberals are stuck in third place.

Because, as I've said many times before - it's not about me.

"This list, which he posted on his web site, will not help people understand who to vote for, and what interests will defend the party, ' said the Croat".
