England finally have a goalkeeper who saves - Capello

Jordan Pickford has made saves that "are rarely seen" and has been instrumental in England's run to the World Cup semi-finals, says Mexico legend Jorge Campos.

While few would regard Henderson as one of the top midfielders in the world, he clearly has some good influence on his teams - either that or he's an incredibly effective good luck charm. Henderson has been manager Gareth Southgate's first-choice defensive midfielder for the tournament, starting every single match apart from against Belgium when Southgate played a largely second string side with qualification already secured.

Pickford only made his full England debut in November 2017, just seven months before the World Cup in Russian Federation, but he made crucial saves in the team's round-of-16 penalty shoot-out victory over Colombia.

The former Sunderland shot-stopper may face an even busier evening against Croatia in Moscow on Wednesday where England will attempt to reach a first World Cup final since they won the tournament in 1966.

"I had a tiny hamstring issue from the last game but it was fine to play".

"I spoke to him last night after the game and I said to him, "Look, I know you'll be hurting right now but you should come back into the country with your head held high". He's getting so, so close to one of these trophies and a big success in his career, and it will be making of him and people will realise the player and the leader he is.

"He ran out of steam a little bit in extra time, but he's absolutely given everything for both club and country and I think he's had a fantastic season".

"I'm so pleased for him because he's a great person as well". It's down to what we do behind the scenes, what we work on in training, all the hard work to get here.
