Man Without Arms Charged With Stabbing Tourist With Scissors

Crenshaw was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, Miami Beach police said. That's when the suspect, identified as Jonathan Crenshaw, 47, pulled out an unknown object and stabbed the male.

According to Miami Beach Police Department Jonathan Crenshaw, who is a native of Florida, stabbed 22-year-old Cesar Coronado twice with the scissors before running away from the crime scene.

A homeless man with no arms has been charged with stabbing a tourist in Florida.

Officers found Coronado lying on the ground, bleeding from his left arm.

According to the arrest report, Crenshaw says he was lying down when Coronado, a Chicago tourist, approached him and punched him in the head.

Coronado was visiting the area with his friend from Chicago.

Coronado's friend, Cindy Barrientos, told police this was not the case, but rather her friend was simply asking Crenshaw for directions when the street artist jumped up and allegedly stabbed him, the Herald adds. Paramedics took him to an area hospital for treatment.

Crenshaw's most recent conviction was for the felony battery of a police officer in 2014, and came with a sentence of 180 days in jail.

Police said there were no indications that Crenshaw was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident. His court date will be on July18.
