Trump attacks CNN, NBC and British paper in news conference

During a joint press conference in London with British Prime Minister Theresa May, Trump bristled at a question from NBC News reporter Kristen Welker and refused to take one from an insistent Jim Acosta of CNN.

Trump called it dishonest reporting. "It didn't put in what I said about the prime minister and I said tremendous things". I don't take questions from fake news.

The Wall Street Journal, owned by Murdoch's News Corp., said the day was "overshadowed" by Trump's interview with the Sun and said it could undermine May at a time when she is struggling to gain Parliament's support for her plans for Brexit.

Let's break it down: According to what The Sun wrote on Friday, the paper conducted an exclusive interview with the president on Wednesday, and then the president made comments about said interview in an "extraordinary press conference" at British PM Theresa May's country retreat, Chequers.

Different continent, same old CNN-hating Trump. "When it became clear that the president wasn't going to entertain a question from him, I proceeded with my question, as did my fellow colleagues in the press corps".

NBC news reporter Ken Dilanian took to Twitter to suggest that John Roberts of Fox should have taken the moment to defend "his colleagues", including Acosta, who has a history of heckling at press events, instead of asking his own question of the president. "I don't take questions from CNN", said Trump. Trump then went on to deny The Sun's reporting, claiming he never actually criticized May, and saying, "Fortunately, we tend to record stories now... we record when we deal with reporters".

"No. No. CNN is fake news I don't take questions - I don't take questions from CNN". They have fine journalists there who risk their lives to cover the news around the world. Lesson for the kids out there: "no one should ever try to do the right thing with the expectation that it will ever be reciprocated". She is honest as the day is long. He continued to make pleas for a question as Trump called on John Roberts of Fox News.

"No, no", Trump responded, calling the network "fake news".

Welker was referring to that interview when she said Trump had criticized May "on her own soil", but the Sun had noted the interview was recorded before the U.S. president arrived in the UK.
