Barcelona a step up from Bayern, says Vidal

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde believes new signing Arturo Vidal will be a "warrior" for his new club.

Vidal and Bayern were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by Barca's great rivals Real Madrid in each of the last two seasons, with the midfielder controversially sent off in 2016-2017.

"We have the best players in the world here". "I have come here to win everything", he told reporters. To have arrived at Barcelona is a bigger step than that of Bayern Munich.

"I hope to make a contribution and help my teammates to win all the titles".

"A lot of fight, lots of passion, helping the team at all times, and making sure the team always wins". "I am here to leave everything on the pitch". The most important thing is winning titles. "We don't talk about players that are not part of this club". A player with a profile like that, we know we need.

Barca won La Liga and the Copa del Rey last season and are hoping to end Real Madrid's dominance of the Champions League, in which they lost to Roma in the quarterfinals last season.

Vidal also said he is excited to be at the club where he would play alongside the best players in the world.

"During the three-year contract, I hope we can win everything we play for", Vidal said at a press conference alongside Barcelona's Vice President Jordi Mestre and the Director of Football Eric Abidal.

Vidal, 31, signed a three-year contract after Barca agreed a reported €21 million (Dh89.1m) fee with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
