Cam Newton confronts Kelvin Benjamin before Bills-Panthers game. Twitter goes nuts

Here are three takeaways from the Carolina Panthers bout against the Buffalo Bills. In fact, things may have escalated.

On Thursday, Cam Newton got the chance to confront Kelvin about his comments, but the Buffalo Bills WR chose to dismiss him and just walk away from the conversation.

Newton waved Davis away so he could have a one-on-one conversation with Benjamin, then followed the receiver as he tried to walk away.

It was a fortuitous matchup in the preseason opener after the wideout in the same interview this week called the Panthers, his former team, "a bad fit from the get-go".

Newton later waved off Benjamin in apparent frustration before the two parted ways for the remainder of warmups.

The comments that got the attention of Newton and plenty of other people - including Buffalo Coach Sean McDermott - featured this passage: "If you would've put me with any other quarterback, let's be real, you know what I'm saying?" He responded on social media in his Instagram story. "Looking back on it, I should've just been drafted by somebody else", Benjamin recently told The Athletic's Tim Graham.

When Benjamin said Newton was an inaccurate passer last week, the quarterback didn't seem bothered by it.
