DOOM Eternal gameplay reveal: Here's how to watch

Wait, really? After all the ripping and...? Yep, Id isn't being shy about its Dark Souls inspiration here, literally sharing the same term for letting other players come charging into your world with the lone goal of killing you to death.

Doom Eternal, the sequel to 2016's series reboot, was announced back at E3 in June but all that was shown then was a pre-rendered sequence of what looked like the Earth overrun by the powers of Hell. The DOOM Eternal gameplay will be live-streamed for every one of you who can not make it to the main event. You can even team up and form a slayer hunting party. Pain Elementals, Arachnotrons, and Arch-Viles are making their comeback in DOOM Eternal.

Doom Eternal takes place partially on Earth, where a full-on demonic invasion is underway (and apparently got help from the inside, considering holographic messages telling people to make the demonic transition as smoothly as possible for the demons and also to call them "mortally challenged", because demon is a slur). Pro Tip: demons don't like it when you blow bits off of them, so you should shoot at them until they die. Easy - you attach a grappling hook to it! The overwhelming success of that effort has only amplified anticipation for the sequel, Doom Eternal.

In addition to things like Rage 2 gameplay, id Software showed off some Doom Eternal gameplay today, taking us through two different levels of the game along with a large number of different demons for us to messily butcher.

There's no firm release date for Doom Eternal yet, but Bethesda says it'll be available on pretty much every major platform: PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
