Everton finally seal loan deal for Kurt Zouma from Chelsea

Everton were linked with a deadline day loan swoop for Chelsea's Premier League youngster Kurt Zouma, but the transfer window has now closed.

The report also adds that Everton have discussed moves for Yerry Mina of Barcelona and Marcos Rojo of Manchester United but neither player is close to joining the Toffees.

Zouma subsequently missed almost one season of football before he made his return to the pitch.

Jose Mourinho has made no secret of his frustration at United's transfer business this summer as Brazilian midfielder Fred has been the only significant addition so far with Lee Grant arriving as a third-choice goalkeeper while Diogo Dalot is a young full-back for the future.

Zouma, 23, spent last season on loan with Stoke City, making 34 Premier League appearances to confirm his fitness after a knee injury limited his opportunities at Chelsea.

Manchester United's eagerness to sign a centre-back this summer has been all too well known.

According to The Times, Everton are now on the brink of completing a deal for the French defender.

Zouma is likely to be joined by Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes at Goodison Park, as the Merseyside club look to get back on track after a slow start to the transfer window.

The Mirror believe Everton submitted a deal sheet that could go allow them to sign the France worldwide, despite the deal going beyond the 5pm deadline for Premier League clubs.
