Nintendo Announces Four New Characters For

New additions include one of Donkey Kong's most formidable foes, King K. Rool, and Castlevania vampire hunter Simon Belmont. There's even a completely new mode of gameplay which Sakurai teased but did not reveal. When stacked, players can change between them with the press of a button. Here, too, we see one of the options blurred out, which must correspond to the mysterious new game mode. So what could it be? This can be played with just two people cycling through their lineup of characters, but Sakurai also says it's fun to try it with multiple players switching off between characters.

As shown during the Direct, King K. Rool will definitely be a much heavier fighter and while he'll rely on muscles and strength to get his way to victory, he also has an assortment of quirky moves that should make him an unpredictable force to go up against. Maybe the master hand will make its return. Ultimate news, courtesy of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct, and, as you would expect, it was jam-packed with exciting info, including the reveal of two debuting characters, as well as new "Echo Fighters", Assist Trophies, stages, modes, and more! Ultimate all launching within three months of one another.

Another welcome addition is the inclusion of a structured Tourney mode, so players in larger groups can spend less time making brackets and more time competing. Ultimate Direct stream on Wednesday, where it also revealed and/or confirmed the return of tons of stages, items, and assist trophies, not to mention the unexpected death and return of a beloved plumber.

Smashdown: After battling in this mode, the previously selected fighters will no longer be available, forcing players to have to pick a different fighter for the next round. This mode favors players who are skilled with multiple fighters and encourages others to diversify their rosters. The iconic accomplice to Mario was killed off in the latest trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable fighter.
