The Romanoffs: Trailer For New Matthew Weiner Series Boasts Epic Cast

With an insane ensemble (seriously, everyone is in this thing) and a story that spans seven countries and eight (!) stories, The Romanoffs looks incredibly ambitious and a bit more idiosyncratic than Weiner's acclaimed AMC series. This is the first anthology series for Amazon Prime Video that will roll out on a weekly basis.

Matthew Weiner's The Romanoffs is easily our most anticipated new series on Amazon, but if you were expecting another drama in the vein of Mad Men, the first trailer for Weiner's latest TV project might throw you for a loop. "There's great debate about who is a Romanoff and what happened to the Romanoffs", Weiner previously shared with our sister site Variety. Here We Go Again); Juan Pablo Castañeda (The Debt of Maximillian); Emily Rudd (Electric Dreams); Adele Anderson (Company Business); Annet Mahendru (The Americans); Louise Bourgoin ((I Am a Soldier); Hera Hilmar (Two Birds); and Inès Melab (Agathe Koltès).

To that end, several characters in the video claim to be members of the storied gene pool.




The Romanoffs will premiere Friday, Oct. 12 on Amazon.
